The last post in my blog was about a cockroach. Well, the next night another visitor came into my bathroom. This time it was a lizard! As usual, it was dark. I couldn’t really see anything. Something was moving fast on the floor. When I looked down, there was a lizard. At that time, I was actually holding the water hose. I was just kinda washing the floor because my legs were dirty. As soon as I saw the lizard, I quickly use the water hose to flush away the lizard. Instead the lizard kept running back to me.
So, I just kept splashing water everywhere till it disappeared. I thought it maybe ran away because as far as I know lizards can climb the wall and maybe just went through the cracks on the wall. As I said before, it was dark and I wasn’t wearing my specs. Thinking the lizard has escaped, I wanted to bathe. There was a pail in my bathroom. The water hose was leaking the other day, so the pail was used to store the water that was leaking. I used some kind of a scoop (I always call it ‘kong’. I am not sure how to call it. Sorry, I am typing this at night and my mind is not working -.-lll) to scoop out the water to wash the floor.
I was doing this a few times when I realized the dead lizard in the pail. The lizard wasn’t moving so I presumed it was dead. It really was dead but I just felt so gross looking at it. I flushed it down the toilet drain. I just felt so bad. Alright, alright. Maybe not..I can’t help it. When I see lizards or cockroaches, I tend to do something to get rid of them, killing them in the process though this is the first time that I killed a lizard and a cockroach like so.
Anyways, sorry to all lizard lovers out there. Didn’t mean to kill it. HAHA!! I guess you all must be bored listening to my stories about me killing a cockroach and a lizard. Well, moving on… Last weekend, I was in Malacca. On Friday afternoon I got a call from my cousin from Johor Bahru saying that my grandfather was admitted into the hospital. Nothing serious, just that he suffered a really minor heart attack. According to her (on Friday) he was doing fine because he can still laugh and joked around. So, my dad decided to visit him in Malacca the next day instead. I reached Malacca around 10.30 am on Saturday. Went to visit him in the hospital. Only two people can enter into the ward at a time. So, we let my grandma and my brother to visit my grandpa first.
Along with me was my grandma, parents, aunt, uncle, cousin and my brother. So, my grandma and my brother went in first. We all waited outside patiently. It was actually really hot! The air was stuffy (did I spell that correct??) Anyways…the air ventilation was horrible. I forgot to bring my MP3 and I got nothing to entertain myself. Lucky, there are cell phones to keep me accompany. Soon, my grandma and my brother came out. My grandpa was doing fine. Next were my parents turn. After that, my cousin and I went in. The way into his ward was quite far. The whole way was quiet and kinda eerie. All I can hear was the sound of our footsteps.
So, I continued walking till I reach a door. After the door, we reached at place where there are many rooms. My grandpa was in room number 4. When we reached outside of this room, there was a nurse checking up on my grandpa. So my cousin and I just waited patiently till the nurse was done with her job. I went in and there was my grandpa. Else than the needle and tubes on his body, he IS doing fine. We talked and laughed. He can still laugh. We talked till my aunt came in and said, “you both girls are too long in the room. It’s our turn already.” I guess we talked till we didn’t realize time has past. So I said goodbye and we both walked out.
Then, there was the waiting part again. After that, I went shopping! Haha… bought a top and a sandal. My current one is in a bad condition. Shopped till 5.30 pm. Went back home to rest, then out again for dinner. After dinner, I immediately went to visit my grandma (mom’s side). Talked, chat, and I even took a bath there (LOL). Around 10.30 pm I was already feeling sleepy and my dad, brother and I went back home. My mom stayed with her mom because on that day, her sister was staying over as well. As soon as I reached home, I changed into my pajama, played a round of Mahjong, brushed my teeth and then immediately was sound asleep.
The next day, I refused to get up. Haha…I was feeling bad and I know I was going to get sick. (Which I did because I am having flu now…*sob* *sob*). Anyways, I forced myself to get up and get ready. I was gonna visit my grandpa before heading back home. This time, my brother and my grandma went in first. It was so hot and it was worse than the day before. There were also more people. I am sorry if this sounds offensive but I hate hospital. I hate the smell and there was once I accidentally passed by the morgue and the nurse was pushing a coffin. It wasn’t really a coffin. It’s like a large sardine tin. When I saw it, I felt like my stomach just twisted and there was just this tingling feeling at my spine. Creepy!
Anyways, back to the main story. I was sitting outside waiting for my turn when my aunt said something loud. I looked up and there was my grandpa on his bed being wheeled to another ward, which means his case wasn’t serious anymore. I rushed to get up and picked up all my stuff. My bad bad cousin didn’t even help me although the stuff I was carrying belongs to her… Haha…I am just joking… Only two people can fit into the lif, so my brother went with my grandma. We waited and waited till we got a call from him telling us where the ward was.
I tell you, the ward he was put into the so much worse then the one before. There were so many people in one room (4 people share one room) and all the family members were in. there was no air conditioner and we obviously didn’t know we had to bring our own fan. I was sweating profusely and feeling unwell. After talking awhile, my mom decided to get going. So, I said goodbye and left. He was discharged yesterday (23rd April). I just got the news that he can’t go through the operation because of his age. The doctor says that he is too old and if he still insists on going for the operation, his heart may not be able to take it. So, he has to take it easy and go for medical check up every 2 months.
My mom was disappointed. She says that when you are old, it is very sad to hear that you can’t do something just because of your age. She maybe half right. In this case, she says that maybe if my grandpa should go for the operation, he might be in a better condition. Oh, yes. The surgery is to insert a pacemaker. The surgery is supposed to help him. Well, to me the doctors have considered few factors before deciding that he can’t go on with the surgery, one which is his age. He maybe able to live better if the surgery is successful but what if it isn’t. What if what the doctors said was true, that his heart can’t take it? I would not want my grandpa to die on the surgery table. So now, he just has to know how to take greater care of himself. I love you yeye! Although you ask me silly questions and you always scold me for not being able to speak Chinese, I still love you. Even though you always tend to find fault with me, I still love you. I guess maybe we are both born in the year of ox; we are both stubborn and hot tempered. Haha. Anyways, I think I am writing a little too long here. Haha. I better stop here. If not, I will be blabbering nonsense. Till next time, Peace out!
